Description
We're seeking a dynamic and experienced CPO to lead our advancement at nonprofit, Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas.
The CPO will oversee the grant writer, Advancement Specialist, FOFM fundraising events, and work closely with our creative print/design and exhibit signage/social /website teams. The annual agency budget is $2.7 million and will grow to $2.9 million in 2026. We have constant revenue sources from our store, catering, educational program and food and beverage revenue streams which will grow, to help support all our endeavors.
With strong foundational understanding of the local nonprofit community, local government, private sector, success with capital campaigns, events, membership growth, major giving, and good all-round performance and community relationships with donors at a high level and on various platforms — we reward major milestones. Experience working at a museum is not essential, nor is knowing all about the Aerospace industry, however candidates with at least 10- 15 years’ experience in this role, especially working on individual giving and peer-to-peer fundraising opportunities are favorable. If you’re creative - we use Canva, Constant Contact, Sprout Social and have a solid donor database management system in place called Bonterra. You’ll play a pivotal role in growing the department, shaping, and executing our established fundraising, PR, social media, and website strategy and make a huge impact!
The CEO understands fundraising with 24 years’ experience and is a nurturing, supportive person, who empathizes —knowing what it takes in this post Covid market to raise a dollar for STEM education. We are looking to raise you up and be very entrepreneurial in our endeavors.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Draft the annual philanthropy plan with the CEO along with amortized forecasting and work with the CEO to achieve the museum’s goals.
- Draft, implement and oversee established end-to-end fundraising campaigns, from concept to execution, maximizing the impact of limited resources.
- Manage and maintain our donor database, donor relations and ensure accurate and up to- date records to support strategic decision-making. The finance department has your back!
- Draw on 10 years of full-time non-profit fundraising experience to establish and nurture relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations.
- Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities of a small fundraising team.
- Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, harnessing their expertise and connections to expand our donor base.
- Monitor and analyze campaign metrics, providing insights for continuous improvement and success measurement. Stay abreast of fundraising trends, incorporating best practices into our approach for sustained growth and foster a collaborative and motivated team environment, mentoring staff to achieve fundraising goals.
- Utilize Canva to create visually compelling communication materials for campaigns, events, and donor communications. No consultants need to apply please. We need a full- time staff member.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent 15 years on the job training at a nonprofit, or in a relevant field; advanced degree or fundraising CFRE, NSFRE certification is a plus.
10 years of full-time experience in non-profit fundraising, with a focus on small to mid-sized organizations.
Proficient in Canva, Constant Contact, and donor management databases. Knowledge of merchant services technology - square, sprout social, a plus.
In-depth knowledge of the Dallas non-profit and philanthropic landscape.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to make large asks in person is important. Your proven ability to work effectively in a small team is essential.
