Faculty Position in Physical Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in experimental physical chemistry, broadly defined. The successful candidate will support the university in one or more of its strategic research initiatives, which include biomedical, materials, or energy chemistry, broadly defined.
This position will be part of a major expansion of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, which is among the top academic units at Texas Tech in terms of research funding, publications, and graduate education.
The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent, well-funded research program, have a commitment to excellence in teaching physical chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, or closely related field, as well as postdoctoral experience, with a strong research track record as exemplified by publications in appropriate peer-reviewed journals.
Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, university, and community is expected.
Located in Lubbock, Texas, Texas Tech University is a state-supported National Research University Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) with a Carnegie R1: Highest Research Activity classification. It has an enrollment of more than 40,000 students and is one of the major multidisciplinary universities in the Southwest. Lubbock is a moderately sized city of roughly 250,000 people and features sunny weather, affordable housing, and a major regional medical center located on the South Plains of West Texas.

Requirements
- A Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field is required.
- Postdoctoral experience and the ability to teach physical chemistry courses.

- Candidates will demonstrate strong program-building skills, a commitment to extra-curricular activities and a history of service to the Department, College/University, and Community.
