Description
A fully remote, woman-owned public relations and marketing agency focused on B2B professional services firms is looking for a sharp, proactive and detail-obsessed Account Director to join our team working from home offices throughout the United States.
If you love translating complex ideas into clear, compelling stories — and you’re as comfortable crafting a pitch as you are managing clients — we want to hear from you.
TO APPLY: Please send a resume, cover letter and original writing samples to [email protected]. Applications without a cover letter and original writing samples will not be considered.
The ideal candidate:
- 5 to 10 years of agency experience in progressively senior roles, preferably managing B2B accounts (experience in professional services, including law, architecture, engineering and construction, is a plus)
- Supervisory experience, overseeing junior and mid-level staff and developing A-players
- Experience managing client relationships and budgets, with proven results for growing accounts and maintaining long-term relationships
- A proven track record of successfully managing integrated PR and marketing accounts
- A strong industry network and proven experience working with members of the press and key influencers
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Deep understanding of public relations and B2B marketing, including thought leadership, content marketing and social media. Familiarity with SEO and AI is a plus
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Drive, ambition and a desire to contribute to the growth of the agency
- Poise and presentation skills necessary to work with a wide range of senior-level clients and subject-matter experts, including C-level executives, corporate lawyers, architects, engineers and more
- A high degree of empathy, strong emotional intelligence and a kind, generous demeanor when working with clients, vendors, partners and team members of all levels
- A proactive work approach that always anticipates “what's next?” for their clients, as well as a drive to constantly improve
- The ability to travel to client offices occasionally per client requests (all travel is reimbursed and infrequent)
- An enthusiasm to work from a home office while doing strategic, high-impact marketing and public relations work for some of the nation’s leading law firms, architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) firms and B2B companies
As a member of the Reputation Ink team, on any given day, you will:
- Lead and execute strategic marketing and public relations initiatives that enhance our clients’ brand image, reputation and overall presence in their respective markets
- Oversee all integrated marketing and PR activities, delegating tasks, managing deadlines, developing and implementing processes and procedures, and setting and achieving goals and KPIs
- Draft and edit content, including client-ready documents, strategies and other communications, including pitches, bylined articles, blogs, bios, press materials and meeting reports
- Proactively pitch news stories and manage media inquiries, leveraging your knowledge of the media landscape to position clients effectively
- Maintain a pulse on current marketing and PR trends, industry-specific publications and emerging outlets to maximize coverage for our clients
- Oversee client reporting
- Manage and develop account team members
- Set a standard for excellence and ensure team members have the resources needed to meet that standard
- Advise clients in crisis situations with messaging and media relations
- Meet billable goals and other KPIs as assigned
- Conduct monthly check-ins with team members, offering constructive feedback and guidance on their work
- Commit to being actively involved in the team’s career growth, advocating for their success within the company
As a “virtual” agency, all Rep Ink team members work from home offices spread across the United States and Canada, serving clients across the U.S. We were remote before COVID-19, and we’ll never ask you to return to an office. Working remotely is part of our culture, and we value the work-life balance this structure provides.
In addition to our work-from-home lifestyle, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
- Two weeks of paid vacation in the first year, three weeks in years two through four, and four weeks after year five
- 11 days of recognized public holidays
- Bonus week off between Christmas and New Year’s (entire company is off)
- Health, dental, disability and life insurance
- 401(k) company match (beginning after one year of employment)
Due to the high degree of emphasis we place on strong writing skills, we ask candidates who we believe are a strong fit to complete two to three paid freelance writing assignments as part of the interview process.
Account Directors require 5-10 years of agency or professional services firm experience, and the salary range for the role is $100,000 to $130,000 (individual salary is dependent on a wide range of factors).
To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to [email protected]. No phone calls please.
