Description
JOB SUMMARY
This one-year, full-time program is an exceptional opportunity to launch a career in long-term care administration. The Administrator in Training (AIT) will gain the essential knowledge and hands-on experience needed to become a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a vital member of the team, you will contribute directly to Pinnacle Living's mission of Enriching Life’s Journey.
- This program is scheduled to begin in June 2026.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an AIT, you will immerse yourself in all facets of long-term care administration through a comprehensive, structured program. Your responsibilities will include:
- Mastering the Core Domains: Study and apply skills across the four essential domains of long-term care administration:Care, services, and supports
- Operations
- Environment
- Leadership and Strategy
- Rotational Training: Gain broad exposure by rotating through various departments, including:Administration
- Human Resource
- Nursing and Health Care Services
- Business and Finance
- Dining Services
- Lifestyles and Wellness
- Housekeeping and Maintenance
- Documentation and Licensure: Complete all required documentation for the Virginia Board of Long-Term Care Administrators and prepare for and pass the NAB NHA Examination (NAB NHA & CORE) to obtain your license.
- Strategic Projects: Take on special projects assigned by your preceptor to deepen your understanding of aging services and support Pinnacle Living's strategic goals.
- Flexible Assignment: You may be assigned to a specific community or multiple locations to gain maximum exposure to senior living operations. You may also be asked to fill interim community director roles during key vacancies.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- A foundational understanding of business and healthcare administration.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- The ability to work independently, manage your own time, and follow program guidelines.
Education and Certification
- A Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Virginia
