Description
The Department of Management in the School of Business at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Management with primary specialization in Human Resources Management and secondary specialization in International Management, starting August 2026. An earned doctorate in Human Resource Management or related discipline, preferably from an AACSB-accredited program or other program/institution with equivalent standards, is required for appointment (ABD candidates may be considered only on the condition of full doctoral completion by August 2026).The successful candidate will demonstrate (1) the ability to provide instructional excellence in courses in areas of the above specializations; (2) a planned scholarly agenda consistent with expectations of an AACSB-accredited program; and (3) a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education through active participation in the development of innovative and/or interdisciplinary courses. Primary teaching responsibilities include human resources management, and cross-cultural/international management, at both undergraduate and graduate levels. TCNJ has high expectations for faculty to foster active, engaged classrooms, and thus evidence of highly effective teaching is especially important in addition to having an active research agenda. In accordance with TCNJ's teacher-scholar model, faculty are also expected to be engaged in student advisement, mentorship, and research.
The Department of Management supports undergraduate management concentrations and minors in the following areas: Management, Human Resources Management, Supply Chain Management, Leadership, Business Studies, and Sports Management and Communication. It also supports the MBA track in Strategy, Innovation, and Leadership, as well as a new Master of Science in Management and Organizations.
Required Qualifications
• Doctorate in Human Resources Management or related discipline, preferably from an AACSB-accredited program or other program/institution with equivalent standards (ABD candidates may be considered only on the condition of full doctoral completion by August 2026).
• Evidence of and potential for scholarly achievement, including a commitment to high-quality empirical research and the ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Teaching interest or experience in one or more of the following areas: human resources management (and related sub-fields), and cross-cultural/international management at both the undergraduate and graduate (MBA, MS) levels.
Preferred Qualifications
• T eaching experience in the required areas, with an ability to deliver instruction effectively in both in-person and hybrid modalities
• Experience, capability and/or willingness to develop new courses and programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels, within the areas of specialization listed above
