Dunn’s Therapies is currently seeking Certified Recreation Therapists to provide one on one therapy to clients in an in home/facility-based setting. Services will be provided for clients in the Houston and Surrounding Metro Areas. Clients can vary in age from child to senior. This is a contractor-based position with a flexible schedule and hours.
You will serve mainly Special Needs Population and will be required to have the following: board certification or eligible to sit for exam, professional liability insurance, current CPR certification through American Heart Association or Red Cross or be willing to obtain CPR certification. Reliable transportation is required.

As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic recreational activities to individuals with developmental disabilities, children, and geriatric populations. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs tailored to meet the needs and interests of individuals with various conditions and age groups
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions using recreational activities as a therapeutic tool
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans
- Plan and organize recreational outings, events, and activities for clients
- Document client progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and maintain accurate records

Requirements

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or related field (master's degree preferred)
- Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or eligibility for certification
- Knowledge of therapeutic recreation principles and techniques
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy approaches
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of different client populations
