Indiana University (IU) invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean, School of Nursing for the three core nursing campuses (Bloomington, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis).
Since its founding in 1914, Indiana University School of Nursing has evolved into one of the largest nursing programs in Indiana that offers a full range of academic degrees from BSN to doctorate. Advancing research and scientific discovery is a core mission for the School. In FY 2024-25, the School had $4.4 million in external funding and $4.6 million in sponsored research expenditures. Total enrollment for the School, across Bloomington, Indianapolis, and Fort Wayne in Fall 2025 was 1,952 undergraduate students (BSN + ASN, RN to BSN) and 285 graduate students (MSN, DNP and PhD), with an additional 1,350 students on the pre-nursing tracks. There are 85 full-time faculty members and more than 24,000 alumni worldwide.
Reporting to the Provost on the Indianapolis campus, the new Dean will build on the current success of the School and its faculty and take it to the next level of its development as a national leader in teaching, practice, research, and service.

Requirements
Candidates must hold a PhD or similar research-intensive degree from an accredited institution; candidates with a terminal research degree in a field other than nursing must have a graduate degree in nursing. All candidates must have a record of distinguished research with proven success in securing external funding for their program of research, excellence in teaching, and a substantive and progressive record of administrative expertise in an academic setting. Candidates must have credentials that merit appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure in nursing. Candidates must have a current unencumbered Indiana Nursing License or eligible to obtain at the time of appointment.
