Description
Our client is seeking a Finance Manager in Houston, TX, to oversee financial accounting and reporting for US operations. This role offers the chance to ensure compliance with local and international standards, support annual statements, deliver analysis, and collaborate with senior leaders. The company values flexibility, growth, and teamwork, providing a supportive environment where your skills are recognized and developed.Key Responsibilities:
As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of critical financial functions that underpin the success of the US operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing accurate reports in line with international standards, coordinating complex tax compliance matters with trusted advisors, supporting regulatory filings alongside legal experts, managing essential cash flow activities, leading budget cycles, and acting as a key liaison between auditors and global teams. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also an ability to communicate effectively across departments. You will be instrumental in driving process improvements while nurturing a culture of collaboration within the finance team.
- Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate IFRS group reporting for the US entities, ensuring all deadlines are met and standards are upheld.
- Coordinate federal, state, and local tax compliance activities in partnership with external advisors to guarantee full regulatory adherence.
- Support regulatory filings, including SEC, NFA, and CFTC submissions by working collaboratively with compliance and legal teams as required.
- Manage cash flow processes, maintain banking relationships, and facilitate intercompany funding arrangements to optimize liquidity across the business.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities for US management entities while providing comprehensive analysis and actionable insights to senior management.
- Act as the primary finance point of contact in the US for auditors, tax advisors, and global finance teams to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and support for cross-border initiatives that drive strategic objectives forward.
- Maintain robust internal controls over financial processes to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency within the finance function.
- Foster a collaborative atmosphere by sharing knowledge with colleagues across jurisdictions.
To excel as Finance Manager, your background should include substantial experience within finance or accounting-ideally gained in hedge funds, asset management, or top-tier financial services settings. Your academic credentials should reflect rigorous training in accounting or finance disciplines; holding a CPA will set you apart. You bring deep familiarity with US GAAP principles along with practical knowledge of tax frameworks governing management companies. Your technical skills extend beyond numbers: you are adept at using advanced Excel features and navigating contemporary finance systems. What truly distinguishes you is your ability to collaborate effectively across borders-communicating clearly with auditors, advisors, and colleagues alike-and your commitment to upholding ethical standards throughout every aspect of your work.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required; a CPA qualification is strongly preferred for this position.
- At least six years' experience in finance or accounting roles within hedge funds, asset management firms or Big 4 financial services environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in applying US GAAP principles as well as understanding US tax regulations relevant to management companies.
- Proven track record managing outsourced accounting or finance providers to deliver high-quality results on time.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and familiarity with modern finance systems is essential for success.
- Ability to work hands-on in a fast-moving environment while remaining adaptable to changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills enabling effective collaboration across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience supporting regulatory filings such as SEC, NFA, or CFTC submissions would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical mindset capable of delivering meaningful insights from complex data sets.
- Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- This organization stands out for its unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where every team member feels valued.
