Join *Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital (BHVH)* *Dallas* as a Registered Nurse within the *Scheduling Department* and be part of something better! *BHVH Scheduling Department Opportunities * Our BHVH Scheduling Department is a fast-paced environment that coordinates complex care to meet the needs of heart and vascular patients in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waxahachie. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our BHVH Scheduling Department leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and developing every team member. * * *Patient Population: *Cardiac and Vascular *Status/Schedule:* Part Time/Days. 24hr or three 8hr shifts per week, 10a-6:30p. Flexible scheduling. *Orientation:* Approximately 4-8 weeks. Onsite at BHVH Dallas. Schedule must be flexible to align with their preceptor. *Department Specifics:* BHVH Scheduling team schedules and coordinates cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and surgical procedures at BHVH Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waxahachie. In addition, the team schedules for non-invasive cardiology services, advanced cardiac imaging, and many other outpatient cardiac and vascular services provided at all BHVH locations. Average scheduling is around 60 a day in a call center setting. *Department Hours:* Monday- Friday, 7a- 6:30p.** *Setting:* This is a hybrid role with around 10% being onsite at BHVH Dallas. **This is NOT a remote role. *About Us* Here at Baylor Scott & White Health we promote the well-being of all individuals, families, and communities. Note: Benefits may vary based on position type and/or level *Job Summary* As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. *Essential Functions of the Role* * As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. * Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families. * Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues. * You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. * Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly. * You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery. * Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment. *Key Success Factors* * A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures. * Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules. * Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects. * Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. * Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing. * Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties. * Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking. * Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email. *Belonging Statement* We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported, and that our workforce should be reflective of the communities we serve. *Registered Nurse Requirements* • *Education and Licensure* o Graduate of an accredited nursing program. o Current RN (Registered Nurse) license. o BLS (Basic Life Support) - required within 30 days of hire. • *Experience* o Minimum 3 years total RN experience. o At least 2 years of recent, direct Cardiac and/or Vascular RN experience, which may include Telemetry, Stepdown/Progressive Care, or Critical Care. • *Skills and Competencies* o Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills. o Technology proficiency required; must be comfortable using computers and telehealth platforms. o Ability to manage a high call volume (average ~60 calls/day) with professionalism and accuracy. o Previous call center or telehealth experience is preferred. • *Work Model and Location* o Position is telehealth-based, but candidates must be local to the Dallas area. o First 4-8 weeks of orientation/training will be onsite at BHVH Dallas. o Ongoing requirement of approximately 10% onsite presence after training.
