Description
Reference Librarian - Central Campus
- Assist students, faculty, administration, and general public with research needs in person, by phone, and remotely using email and chat reference services.
- Develop and conduct information literacy classes, print and electronic library research guides, online interactive tutorials using Articulate 360 or similar, and assignments that incorporate ACRL information literacy standards.
- Review, select, and deselect library resources for purchase in accordance with institutional goals. Liaison with campus departments to determine materials needed to support curriculum.
- Assist patrons using software, Internet applications, printing, and college-related online services
- Actively participates in planning and executing library outreach efforts with an emphasis on outreach to health science and technical education students
- Serve on library and college-wide committees.
- Maintain records and statistical data on library functions and services as appropriate.
- Maintain professional competencies appropriate to the position.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Reference skills.
- Library instruction skills.
- Evaluation of library materials.
- Knowledge of MS Office, library databases, and integrated library systems.
- Ability to multi-task, be service-oriented, and work well with the public.
- Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
- two to three years of experience working in library reference and information literacy instruction
- Reference and instruction experience in a community college library; experience with health informatics, Health Sciences, Nursing, STEM, Workforce and Technology subject areas
Salary Grade: 116
Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
