Job Summary
The Mechanic Field Service Technician III is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining engines, engine components, and related equipment at customer locations. This role performs complex mechanical repairs, conducts preventive maintenance, and supports lower-level technicians while ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and engine-related problems.
Perform complex and major mechanical repairs on engines, engine components, and sub-assemblies.
Identify and order parts required for repairs and maintenance.
Replace defective parts and equipment as necessary.
Perform routine preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
Complete work orders and timesheets accurately and on time.
Assist lower-level Field Service Technicians with technical issues and work assignments.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Follow all quality control and safety procedures.
Requirements
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
3–7 years of related mechanical repair experience.
Technical certification in automotive and/or diesel engine repair.
Prior diesel engine repair and rebuild experience required.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to utilize laptop computers and portable diagnostic tools.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Dependable and trustworthy.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
Basic computer navigation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience servicing engines, engine components, and heavy equipment.
Ability to mentor and assist junior technicians.
Working Conditions
Work performed at customer locations and in shop environments.
Requires use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Requires near, distance, color, and depth perception.
Exposure to indoor and outdoor work environments.
