The CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Cardiology Service, where high-level nursing care meets cutting-edge diagnostics, interventional procedures, and hands-on teaching. This is a unique opportunity to build advanced skills in veterinary cardiology, diagnostics, and interventional support within a leading academic teaching hospital.
You do not need prior cardiology experience to be successful in this role. If you bring strong foundational RVT skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn, we will provide the training and mentorship needed to grow you into a confident cardiology technician.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will be a key part of the cardiology and interventional team, contributing directly to patient outcomes, teaching, and service operations. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering advanced nursing care for cardiology patients, including ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, and Holter/Zio monitor placement
- Supporting cardiology diagnostics and procedure coordination, ensuring smooth patient flow and timely communication
- Assisting in the Interventional Radiology suite, including sterile field preparation, anesthesia support, and intra-procedural circulating
- Operating and maintaining specialized imaging and cardiology equipment with a focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency
- Maintaining organized, clean, and well-stocked clinical spaces while upholding aseptic standards
- Teaching and mentoring veterinary students and veterinary technician students in cardiology, IR procedures, and patient handling
- Communicating professionally with clients and referring veterinarians regarding scheduling, updates, and discharge instructions
- Contributing to a team environment where flexibility, initiative, and clinical excellence are valued daily

Requirements

- Minimum Qualifications
- Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification recognized in Colorado
- 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience
- Strong skills in animal handling, patient care, and client communication
