Neurology Veterinary TechnicianShift/Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday
Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center
Location: Largo, FL
About You
Are you passionate about providing exceptional care to patients with complex medical needs? As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting advanced patient care while working alongside a collaborative specialty team. You will assist with the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of neurologic patients while providing compassionate, high-quality care throughout their hospital experience.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting neurologists and the medical team with patient assessments, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, nursing care, and maintaining accurate medical records. Your dedication to patient advocacy, attention to detail, and commitment to continued learning will directly impact the lives of pets and their families.
This position will work a Wednesday-Saturday schedule and provides an opportunity to be part of a specialty team focused on delivering exceptional neurologic care.
Your Experience & Skills
- Veterinary Technician licensure preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred
- Emergency, critical care, or specialty experience preferred
- Strong interest in neurology and advanced patient care
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring, patient assessments, IV catheter placement, laboratory diagnostics, and medication administration
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced specialty environment
- Strong communication skills with clients and medical team members
- Commitment to teamwork, continued education, and professional growth
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

You’re Willing And Able To
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for neurologic and specialty patients
- Support veterinarians and specialists in diagnostics, treatments, procedures, and patient management
- Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in patient status to the medical team
- Assist with anesthesia monitoring, procedures, and advanced patient care needs
- Perform diagnostic testing including laboratory work, imaging support, and sample collection
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Educate clients on patient care plans, medications, and treatment recommendations
- Advocate for patients while supporting a positive client experience
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe treatment areas
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to improve patient outcomes
- Support and mentor fellow team members as opportunities arise

Compensation
Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience. The anticipated hourly pay range is $20-$25. The actual rate offered will consider a variety of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
