Position Overview:
A Warehouse Associate at Pref-Tech is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound shipments to their assigned location, for ensuring those shipments are accurate and have correct documentation, for keeping purchasing costs competitive/market by coordinating with their manager and internally in the company/externally by vendor reviews. Our Warehouse Associate works to maintain facilities including the performance of all daily and weekly needs of their assigned office, asset management and to ensure that all company property is accounted for, taken care of, and is in operable condition. Assistance in fleet maintenance will be required on an undefined basis. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a superior work ethic and professionalism who is committed to delivering the highest quality work product and results. Most work required will be in the Dallas area with occasional travel to Houston, Austin or other parts of Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving incoming shipments of material(s) from vendor(s).
Reconciling shipment quantities against their associated packing slip, purchase order and ensuring there is no damage.
Assigning job designation labels to materials and organizing those materials in designated project storage areas.
Maintaining a clean, organized warehouse space.
Assisting project teams with storage and retrieval of material for deployment to job sites.
Assist project teams with material returns.
Able to operate a forklift competently, effectively and as intended.
Able to perform shipping and receiving functions with third party vendors as needed/requested/required (i.e., FedEx, USPS, UPS, etc.).
Coordinating and managing vendors for routine maintenance and repairs for facility needs if unable to complete personally.
Procure and replenish all office supplies across the Houston offices.
Assist with fleets needs when necessary.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Display a positive attitude to fellow team members and clients.
Willingness and ability to be a team player.
Ability to lift between 50 – 75 lbs unassisted.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shipping and receiving documentation.
Ability to focus and complete assigned tasks and prioritize when given multiple tasks.
Organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail and follow through.
Must possess the ability to identify missing or back ordered materials, effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and vendors.
Must be fluent in all applications contained in the Microsoft Office Business Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook).
At least 2 or more years of relevant experience.
Familiarity with shipping platforms such as FedEx and UPS.
Must be at least 21 years old
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics D365
Experience with backorders
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors
